Star Olympic skier Darya Dolidovich and her family were forced to flee their home country of Belarus after Darya was banned from competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics due to her and her family's political views. Belarusian "President" Alexander Lukashenko is notoriously tough on his political opposition, often imprisoning political dissidents and violently cracking down on opposition protests.
