We were recently in Del Mar, California for the introduction of the new five-door Corolla hatchback. This is an all-new vehicle based off the excellent TNGA platform. Toyota used the Volkswagen Golf as the benchmark, pretty much the gold standard for the class, but this will also have to go up against the all-new Honda Civic, Ford Focus, Mazda3, Subaru Impreza and Chevy Cruze.
